Whether we think about it or not, we all have a deep regard, respect, or reverence for something, whatever it might be. How could we not? Reverence can take the form of a feeling, attitude, emotion, or even virtue, that calls forth a humbling response to something beyond us commanding our focus or engagement. This could be toward anything in nature, or all of nature, the arts, a person, all people, or all of life, and can be what makes life worth living.
What do you revere, or treat with the greatest respect? Do you include concrete actions in a practice of reverence? What have you noticed as the benefits of or reasons for being reverent? Tell a story of the before, during, and after of reverence. How did reverence come into your life? What did it bring with it that added something to your life? How do you sustain the feeling or virtue, of reverence throughout the ups and downs of life?
